But Wait, Demolition Isn’t Over
February 14-15
Did I mention Chad & Larry are back? No? Well, all you really have to do is look at the pictures and you can see it’s like the demolition derby around here. The house is now sitting on a more sturdy foundation, so it can withstand the rest of the demo work that needs to be done. We’ve already been down to the dirt, so now it’s time to take the walls down to the studs.
Imagine leaving for work and there’s a wall, but coming home to this. It wasn’t quite as bad of a shock as the day I came home and they had ripped the whole enclosed back porch off the house.
If all else fails, I can use the new pantry foundation as a stage and have comedy shows. After all this, I’m going to need a good laugh.
They made my hallway!! Originally, the bathroom had 2 doorways. One into the dining room and one into the closed off hallway. We took the doorway opening into the dining room out and reopened the hallway.
The saw blade is center of my new back entryway. Now, you can start to see some of the layout changes I requested. This was originally the entry into the house, but it got changed over the years.
They are actually bracing this area up, but we are enclosing this fireplace, which is in the master bedroom. It hasn’t been used for years and was actually covered up.
Another shot of the master fireplace. You can see the closet in this pic. Remember to keep an eye on that area.
