X Marks The Spot
January 5-9
It rained inside the house. That’s probably the first time the dirt beneath the house has seen water since the 1800s.
The Living Room
At least it’s not sagging anymore. At this point, the house has not yet been jacked up.
Mud and blocks
It’s getting there!
I swear every time I see a progress pic from this angle, it makes me think of how tall and proud the house looks now vs. pre-Reno. Pre-Reno this wall was literally leaning.
And then came some of those storms with lots of rain and heavy winds.
These X’s are literally holding my house together, bracing it against the winds. The foundation crew had repaired it and did not want the winds to cause anything to shift. I’m sure you understand that they did not want to have to redo all the hard work they had already done.
This is where I had some anxiety going on. I would get up all during the night and look to make sure my house was still standing. I kept having to remind myself I put the house in the Lords hands and He would take care of it.
Hey Chad, remember my joke about these braces? 🤣 I tried my best to embarrass him, but I don’t think it worked! Also, no I won’t share what I told him. 🙊
More braces in the living room.
I’m happy to report the house survived the storms and winds with zero issues!
